Student Midwife

From an early age Liliana knew that she wanted to be part of the birth community. Her first introduction of midwifery was in 2011, after she observed her first birth in a hospital, where midwives were working directly with the OBs. After graduating highschool, she learned more about midwifery and homebirth and a whole new magical world opened up.
Liliana decided that she wanted to pursue becoming a Midwife and in 2015, began her journey and enrolled in the Via Vita School of Midwifery program. The same year, she and her partner moved from their hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, to Phoenix. She finished Via Vita in early 2017, and in December of that year began working on completing her clinical experience and requirements for PEP through the North American Registry of Midwives to become a Certified Professional Midwife and  Licensed Midwife (CPM, LM).
Liliana currently works as a birth assistant with Willow Birth Centers at home team and is also a student midwife with Freedom and the Seed.
Liliana was very excited when the opportunity came to join Crystal as a student and apprentice at East Valley Midwifery and she looks forward to working with Crystal in supporting and empowering birthing people and families.
During her down time, Liliana enjoys spending time at home with her partner Thomas and her two cats. She does various forms of art such as acrylic painting, drawing and pottery, and finds it is a great way for her to express herself. She also really loves getting out into nature, going camping or to a beach whenever she is able.
