CRYSTAL PENA, CPM LM

Crystal is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), licensed in the State of Arizona (LM) since 2014 to provide prenatal, birth, and postpartum care for families who chose to birth at home. Crystal focuses on fully involving the clients in all aspects of their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. She utilizes evidence-informed practices while providing considerate, individualized care. She respects her client’s choices and acknowledges that every pregnancy and birth are unique.

After the birth of her second child, her interest in holistic pregnancy, birth, and parenting grew to a new level. It was then she realized the interest was truly a calling to midwifery and began training in 2010. During that time she had the opportunity to learn alongside some of the best midwives in Arizona. Crystal is active in our local home birth and midwifery communities and serves on the board of the Arizona Association of Midwives and Arizona Community Birth Coalition.

In her free time, Crystal enjoys spending time with her four boys, husband, and  grandDAUGHTERs! As well playing board games, reading, and catching up on her favorite podcasts.

Crystal finds so much joy in being a midwife and considers it a tremendous honor each time she is invited to a families’ birth space. It is Crystal’s highest priority that your family receives care that is holistic, respectful, safe, and joyful. Here is a quote that captures her feelings about her role as a midwife:
